The perfect year round sleep sack. Never worry if your little one is too hot or cold in this all-weather sleep bag made from Australian merino wool. One size fits babies ages 3 months to 2 years and is adjustable depending on size and preference. While it is more pricey than most, you definitely get what you pay for with the Woolino 4 Season. It is America’s #1 rated baby sleeping bag and the 2012 winner of both the Mom’s Choice Award and Creative Child Magazine’s Top Choice of the Year Award.
Material and Warmth
Made from GOTS certified organic cotton on the outside and 100% natural, hypoallergenic, ultra light Australian merino wool on the inside. It is extremely soft and naturally fire resistant. This sleep sack is perfect for temperatures ranging from 63 to 78 degrees. You will need to dress your baby in undergarments according to the temperature of the room, and for your convenience, a room thermometer and recommended dressing guide is included. Because merino wool naturally regulates body temperature and controls moisture, you do not have to worry about your baby overheating, reducing the risk of SIDS.
The Woolino 4 Season Baby Sleep Bag comes in one size. Unlike many other sleeping bags, it fits babies ages 3 months (or younger depending on the size of the child) to 2 years old. It is ideal for longer length babies as it is roomy and adjustable under the arms with snaps. There is also a toddler version of the Woolino available for children ages 2 to 4 years.
Design and Features
The only sleep sack you will need to buy from 3 months to 2 years. While it’s not cheap, it does not need to be replaced as the child grows like most other wearable blankets on the market. It opens flat for easy dressing and changing, has shoulder straps with snaps, and a side zipper from bottom to top for easy diaper changes and trips to the potty. The non-restrictive body is perfect for even for the most active of sleepers. There is a dock for the zipper pull to prevent chewing, pulling, or catching. Seat-belt slots are designed for no fuss seat belt fastening and transferring a sleeping baby from car to crib with minimal distraction.
The Woolino is machine-washable, durable, and long lasting with proper care, whereas a less expensive model, like the Aden + Anais Muslin needs more TLC when washing and is not as durable. Each sleeping bag includes a room thermometer, dressing guide, and a travel bag. The Woolino 4 Season sleep bag is available in 4 classic patterns:
- Lilac Grey – Striped with white
- Spring – Yellow-green with white polka dots
- Bluebell – Light blue and white stripes
- Earth – Natural tan and white stripes
What We Like
- The only sleep sack you will need from 3 months to 2 years (or 2 to 4 years)
- Ultra soft, 100% natural, hypoallergenic, Australian merino wool
- Ideal for longer length babies
- Machine-washable and durable
- Slots for seat belt
What We Don’t Like
- Initial cost is high
- Snaps underneath the arms can be bothersome to some children
- Depending on your climate, it may not air dry in one day so you would need to air dry in the dryer or have a back up
- Not the ideal weight for cold, winter nights
There is a reason this sleep sack is out of stock so frequently. While the initial cost is higher than most, the Woolino 4 Season Sleep Bag is definitely worth the price. For example, you would purchase four different sizes of the HALO SleepSack to cover the same ages, as opposed to purchasing one. With it’s quality craftsmanship, this sleep sack will last through one child and can be passed on to another. Woolino’s customer service is awesome, so if for some reason you are not satisfied, they will take care of it. If you are considering purchasing a sleep sack, this as well as the Moon Cocoon and Merino Kids sleep sack should be at the top of your list.
